When Earth turns away

The Sun does not "go down" the Earth just turns away
And lets its guardian hang around to make another's day
Life evolved... but who knows where or when
From tiny speechless speck to complicated men
The Universe is vast, beyond our understanding
We see but a sample from the place that we are standing
Anything is possible when we are not aware
Of powers we cannot conceive, of things that are not there
We wonder at the beauty and why we see it so
Because it moves emotions, ignites an inner glow
The fate of being born at all, a miracle for sure
The punishment of life is all the sorrow we endure
The joy of our existence comes at rare and special times
Of love and pleasure rising as fulfillment climbs
But we may never know the truth or see the story end
All that we can do is watch in wonderment my friend

Lyrics to "Ass on the fence"- You say that I'm sick of you, but that's not true at all / It's just the things you say and do that drive me up the wall.
Instead of being positive it's always "might" and "maybe" / Makes no sense sitting on the fence, I know the pressure is immense but move into the future tense Baby.
Chorus - You can't reach the Moon with your ass on a fence and both of your ears to the ground / You can't touch the stars with a spike up you arse with the grass growing green all around.
So if you think that I am sick of you, I don't want to be rude / but I'm up to there with laissez faire and your laid back attitude.
You say you're feeling tired and numb, well I can relate to that / you can't get off your lazy bum when your turn comes to bat.
You say there's something out there, well "there could be" should be" "Maybe" / Instead of sitting on your hands, throw out the bait, see where it lands.... pull your head out from the sands Baby.
You won't make the cut if you can't shift your butt 'cause your head's always in two minds / jump over the fence or just pull the thing down, it's not a place for resting our behinds.
I'm sick of indecision, I'm sick of false pretense - I'd like to switch the power on to your electric fence!

Lyrics to The Empire In My Head (Inspired by World problems)

I'm tired of reality, I wanna be a refugee who lives a life of fantasy and hope
And I despair of humankind, I'd like to leave it all behind and wash my sad, polluted mind with soap
Half the world is crazy, the other half is scared, cynical or lazy, their faults can't be repaired

Chorus

So I'll build myself a wall and I'll lock myself away
Then I don't have to see or hear the things I hate or dread
I'll build myself a wall and I'm starting right today
And I will be the ruler of the Empire in my head

I can't make sense of anything, no reason now to dance or sing
They hurt and kill, the suffering is dire
And I can't watch, and I can't change a culture that's become so strange
I'm heading for a mountain range much higher
Half the world's deluded, the other half is mad, I guess I've just concluded that the Wonder Years are had - Chorus
